On Sunday 3rd January 2010 I woke up at 6.00 am. I was showered and dressed by 6.30 am and sat as a front seat passenger in a little black car that took me on a two hour journey all the way to Ludlow. It is not very often I experience a sunrise, I am more of a sunset kinda girl. Having been in awe of the sun rising over the boardering hills of England and Wales I made a promise to myself that I would witness this natural and beautiful event more often.

I sang all the way, with the sun to my left and my man to my right. The day was already looking promising and my purse was brimming with christmas money screaming to be spent.
We arrived at Ludlow at 9.30 and instantly fell in love with the quaint little market town. We wandered through the tiny cobbled streets and dreamt outloud about living in each and every house that we passed along the way. Every bit of architecture incredibly unique and charming and no highstreet retailer in sight.

The twice - monthly flea market is situated almost at the castle gates. We dived in immediately, not wanting to miss out on any early morning bargains! Each stall was thriving with antiques & collectables, bric-a-brac, vintage clothing & textiles, costume jewellery and oddments. I felt like I may have died with excitement or quite possibly weed myself.
Unfortunately, the market wasn't as busy as usual. The number of stalls had halved due to the "bad" weather. However, after a delightful smoked salmon - scrambled egg breakfast and a hot chocolate - whipped cream & marshmellow medley that would have made Clarissa Dickson Wright blush, there was no stopping me! Ironically, the weather was glorious.
I had to refrain from purchasing the token wicker chair. I should have purchased the barge watering can. I am happy that I was able to purchase my wonderful brown leather rucksack for just £10.00
